for the past 4 years (give or take) I have been using Windows Vista with Incredimail as my e-mail program. I have had no problems to date (knock on wood). The boss (my wife said I can finally get a new computer and I now have one that uses Windows 7. I am trying to install Incredimail but continue to get to a certain point and get an error.

IncrediMail installation has encountered a problem and must exit. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again

A couple of things ... I don't know what they're talking about when they say "Your system has not been modified."

I have tried to install 6 times now and get to the same point each time and it won't install.

I REALLY need IncrediMail to install as I can't export all my e-mail data to any other program.

Can anyone help me out here?

"Your system has not been modified" means the install didn't work and nothing changed on your computer.

Did you go to the Incredimail website and download the newest version of the software that is compatible with Windows 7?

Hi Johanna,
First of all, thanks for responding. By "Did you go to the Incredimail website and download the newest version of the software that is compatible with Windows 7?" If you mean the download that starts on the front page at the IncrediMail site, then yes. If you are referring to another version that is located somewhere else, then no.

Uninstall, reboot. Right click the set-up file and choose "run as an administrator". Click okay when the UAC prompt comes up. Let us know if that helps.

I also posted this problem in IncrediMail's forum and got this response from one of the Moderators

I would like you to install IncrediMail using the full setup file. Click on the following link to install IncrediMail 2:

IncrediMail 2

This fixed my problem ... apparently I WASN'T downloading the proper version, but I did not see a link or any sort of reference to an IncrediMail 2 on their home page. Of course as old as I am and as close to senility as I am I could have just missed it.

Johanna, thanks a bunch for your help. I made sure to double check the link before I posted it to make sure it's available for anyone else who might encounter the same problem.

Thank you so much for posting back and telling how you resolved the problem. I was hoping there was an updated version of the software that would let you carry on and not lose your archived mail. Kudos to Incredimail's tech support for getting back to you promptly.
Cheers from Ohio!

I don'thave very high hopes this will be responded to, since a question posted 3 years ago has yet to be responded to!? I am having issues with Incredimail2 using windows 7 also. The software seems to have stopped retaining my sent emails. I deleted several emails just in case it was a memory issue with the software, but no luck. I tried to uninstall it but I get an error message saying a file can't be found. I tried to reinstall it but I get a different error message. Does anyone have any idea what it could be, and how I can possibly remove this dreaded software from my laptop?

Please advise.
