I posted this topic on the Games forum some time ago, so I hope I can get some help here.

I have tried to uninstall both Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 and 2005.

During the installation of both games there was a problem with the Install Shield Setup Engine which froze right at the end. However, both games still worked. I then tried to uninstall the games but the Install Shield Setup Engine froze straight away. I ended the program and got the following message :

You chose to end the nonresponsive program, InstallShield ® Setup Engine.

An error occured while launching the setup. The remote procedure call failed.

One website advised me to delete the registry files of both games, so I ran Microsoft Window's regedit and then RegCleaner at a later stage. I then tried uninstall and got the message:

Setup cannot find the registration files that are required for setup. Please insert CD1 and try again.

I inserted CD1 and the Install Shield Setup Engine froze again (for both games). I then re-installed both games and tried to uninstall them but get the same problems.

I'm stuck with these games on my computer. Can anyone please help?

Many thanks

Mike.

Hi Inspectordoppler,
Please download Revo Uninstaller. Once downloaded, install and run the application. Revo Uninstaller will populate all installed components on your computer. Find the program you want to remove and right click that program and select UNINSTALL. Just follow all necessary prompts given and you should be able to uninstall that program. Also, don't forget to reboot your computer once you've uninstalled the program to make sure it's removed. If you have any problems, please post back here.

The Revo Uninstaller is a brilliant program. During uninstallation of both games, the same problems appeared, but Revo Uninstaller persevered and uninstalled the programs and all of the remaining files in the registry and on the hard drive.

You've given me great advice and I've now got a useful new application. Thanks very much, 3quilibrium.

Wargames1983,

We really don't like to advocate the use of CCleaner, especially with no instructions, because it contains a registry cleaner. Geeks to Go does not advocate the use of registry cleaners, as they can cause great harm to a PC. Also, your reply was posted once the problem had been solved, with no directions on how CCleaner could solve the problem.
