Oh duh, sorry. I had the custom options checked. Its running again now on full system scan but I have to go to work soon, if it finishes in time I'll repost.

I can't delete cookies. I go start/explore to the cookies folder but as soon as I click in the right side to select it crashs explorer. I tried select all from the edit menu and hit the delete button but that doesn't work because index.dat is protected don't ya know.

thers only 2 cookies in there though.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyones help. I found a thread on this forum that suggested using sfc /scannow to check system files. I didn't know that was possible on win2k but it seems to have worked. Everything seems to be working now but I have Adware/Apropos hanging out in the registry and don't know how to find it.

Is there a registry scan/repair utility that will actually do what it says with out me having to buy it? I've downloaded several but they will only fix a limited number of problems unless I purchase the license.

Well, after I found out that Trend Micro had a new beta scan available, I went and gave it a try. It found and removed Apropos as well as another adware that I didn't know was there.
