Did it stop connecting after you installed Trend, which firewall was on there previously
Perhaps using winsockfixxp will help

the phone connected or the modem but it just shows up as cannot display page
after trend was installed it said proxy settings but itried that in internet options
drop firewall couldnt disable it so i try to use system restore to retrieve avg but that
didnt work .so more or less microsoft is just about the only firewall i got right now.
i dont know my IP address other wise i would try that put in trend
takes long to download avg cant wait for hi-speed

If it is on a CD then remove any other anti virus and firewall programmes you have installed, Install Trend, though you may need to run winsock fix afterwards
If you are downloading the Tren installation file, do that before removing the existing firewall and anti virus
Run disc clean up and disc defragmenter and also clear the prefetch folder in between

so far so good
i ran that program
restored my computer to day
opened up homepage
trend starting to load latest components
im just gonna check my other sites i go to
and see if it will allow me in
otherwise ill start modifying my security settings
