You can use any DVD ROM Drive to copy from a disc to the hard drive, provided they are not copy protected

You only need a writing drive when you want to takes files from the hard drive and put them onto a DVDR Disc

i got 3.1 but it just goes as far as preparing to install and stays there then it will say unable retry or cancel

its windows installer it just sits on desktop doing nothing but preparing to install

Click start then run, type msconfig then press enter, click start up, click disable all, click apply, reboot, tick do not start the configuration utility when windows loads

Try the installer

Then you will need to click start then run, type msconfig then press enter, put the dot in normal start up, click apply and reboot

if a person computer restart in middle of something
like they were just browsing
or yahoo messenger just shuts down randomly
got any ideas wat could be the cause

Check you have the latest video drivers, update or re-install the ones you have

Check the temperatures with Everest, click + next to computer then sensor, look on right

Download and install Everest Home Edition

can the video drivers be found in device manager
if so they should be able to update from there
if they get uninstall from there can they be reinstall from the
universaral serial bus controllers will the hardware be detected

Use Everest, click + next to computer then summary, look on the right for video adapter
