i installed warcraft iii the frozen throne recently but whenever i try to run warcraft III.exe i keep having the same fatal error, just when the opening video ends. The error is the following:

one friend of mine has also installed the game and he, too, has fatal errors when the video ends, just like me.
i have tried a lot of thing suggested in the techical support forum of the game and still nothing can anyone help me plz? if u need any further information just tell me so...any help would be REALLY appreciated

As I said in the chat room it sounds hardware related. Until somebody with more experience replies to the thread you could confirm this by installing the game on another computer and seeing if that affects it. Worth a shot anyway

hi everybody

I´ve tried to change the compatibility of the game,( in properties), to windows 2000 or win me, and
the game run!!

the file that i have modified is actually the main program called war3.exe, (the file by default is in
c:\Program files\Warcraft III)

now i been looking to try and get that erorr out of my pc, and i will tell u this before u all think its your pc, its fukgin not and i know coz i fixt that erorr, all u got to do it remove your movies and replays, bad thing is u got to do that all the fukign time after each dota game i play i got to do it, shits me but itsl ike 30 sec to do it.
the ppl that made the game fuk use all over with this i looked all over the net and not one person i talked to that email them sent bak, so just remove the movies and the replays and it be good, its gay but thats the only way unless u want a new pc.

hehehe the answer is simple your windows might updated and its meddling in ur w3.exe in some reason heres the solution go to my computer right click it properties go ti advanced click the settings in performance and then click the data execution prevention (DEP) turn on DEP for all programs except those i select then add warcraft3 frozen throne exe. apply ok. thats it hehehe ok....

and if it still doesn't work try to update the drivers of your video card

Same happens for me but the fatal error appears right as i start wc3, i have tried to reinstall-to times actually- It says

Guys, just delete Movies and Replays folders in ur game folder. Thats it Enjoy W3

Right click the shortcut of the war3 icon and you should see

D:\WarcraftIII\war3.exe

The D:\WarcraftIII would represent the directory you installed warcraft in

You need to add the following to it

D:\WarcraftIII\war3.exe -opengl

No quote, nothing, just add -opengl
