Darkstar Use a Flashdrive and transfer the file from the computer your currently using. Im not an expert on viruses but I would buy a new drive to be safe.

UPDATE SEPT 8th THANK U ALL, your help saved me from buying another hard drive. I did the SmitFraudFix, got 99% better, made it possible finally for me to do download LAVASOFT ADAWARE FREE download (5.5hr download w/dial-up -- BEDTIME) woke up, something missing, re-loaded xp os, than went back to safe mode, re-ran SmitFraudFix, and did a no-no, ran the lavasoft adaware cleanup in safemode, but, every now & ten a NO NO works, and this one did, been clean for 5 days and requested Better Business Bureau to assist me in getting my refund from NOADWARE site ($42 is $42 to me

THANK YOU :whistling:

SEPT. 9TH now finding some pc problems, that developed during my trojan mess, (Some to do w/my stupidness in trying to fix the trojan before I was lucky enough to find this site).

I have posted my sluggish BLUE SCREEN, & web page publishing (This loss worries me) in the forumns that I hope are more associated with those issues, if someone can help, please look at my other post.

TY again

Thank you for your help removing Trojan.w32.looksky. I found your site using a search on another computer, tried your fix, and all seems to be OK, at this point. It had gotten so I didn't know what pop-ups to believe as real and which to discard. Several of them I couldn't get rid of. Thanks, again.

Glad we could help Applesean, penelopepony, HappyRob, and otherfinn.

Hello darkstar92,

A flashdrive or someother portable media device would work. Such as a blank CD or iPod. I recommend you post in the Malware Removal though to receive personalized help from a trained helper.

theheartstripe and Laes please post a HJT log on the Malware Removal forum and someone will be with you shortly.

I downloaded Smit fraud from the link in safe mode as you suggested to arson982 but when I use search it does not find the smitfraud.exe file. A check of the downloaded folder reveals no .exe file?
My system uses Windows XP pro.
Is there another way of downloading Smitfraud?
Should I remove the first downloaded version first?
