Ok I removed some obvious crap rom hjt, like the yahoo junk and the Semantic file that was left over after I trashed useless Nortons AV. Some of the other stuff I'm not sure about though. Going to run Panda again.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:

Ok, I removed it using hjt, the check boxes. However, the symantec file won't go away. I have everything but the basics stopped through msconfig, I tried stopping it in Task Manager but "acess is denied", I tried deleting it directly from the folder that its in (Program Files/Common/Symantec Shared) but acess is denied there as well.

I followed your instructions. Trojan Hunter didn't find anything wrong - complete scan.
Panda still sees:

Well, after I found out that Trend Micro had a new beta scan available, I went and gave it a try. It found and removed Apropos as well as another adware that I didn't know was there.

Thanks to everyone who gave me help and advice. I don't think this pc has been this clean since it was new. LOL
