Hey Ethan,
It really sounds like DRM is having a grasp here.
Can you make a copy of the CD without ripping the songs?
Regards,
Olrik

Ripping music is the main reason to burn it bc if you do not have the music on the computer how can you burn the music?

Yea.. this is definitely some sort of protection in effect.
Not much we can do here I think.
You can make a direct copy of a disk for personal use, but you won't be able to copy them to your PC without the people that made the official disk.

I'm sorry there isn't much more we can do.
There's only so much we can do and we are not able to assist you in removing copy protection.

Hello Ethan,
As I said. We are not in the position of helping people bypassing copy protection.

This does not make any sense to me at all why this protection would kick in today and I have been ripping CDs to my laptop for months....

You asked
"The tech guy said that it is dealing with copyrighted material. But what I do not understand is that I can burn CDs, and play what songs that I already have on my computer but I can not rip them for some reason. What I am suppose to do>I am not doing anything illegal? "
What he is saying is that GTG's Term Of Use says we will not bypass copyright protection on any material.
With what Vista has done with WMP11 is install anti copyright capability. By ripping the cd the system will not allow it and therefor we cannot bypass it in any way even if we knew how.
