Hi Mayko .. :)
rshaffer61 asked us to help pick up his topics because his internet connection is dropping out on his ISPs side...
anyhow...your quad core can safely get up to 62.2°C so your not even getting close on the cpu...
BTW feeling the side of the case tells you/us nothing...by the time there is any heat transfer to the case the cpu could have gone from 40 °C to 62.2°C two or three times up and down...it fluctuates rapidly according to how hard its stressed...also its hard to kill a intel processor...it starts throttling back if it gets to warm/hot to protect itself...your first indication would be the system getting sluggish...
couple of questions...do you now or have you in the past overclocked the system or the the graphics card...
did I read this right...you said your other computer that never did cause you any problems is now crashing on the same game that's causing the new one to crash too...if so did you update/patch the program prior to the issue starting...
please feel free to bring me up to speed on anything you feel may be important as I read your topic at warp speed and could have missed something...

Oh no sorry the other PC runs it fine just very very very slowly as its a 1.6 Ghz celeron CPU ^.^. I stray away from overclocking after frying a GPU once so this one is all stock. Ive yet to see this good system get sluggish before a shut down. It just goes black and restarts, but doesn't just shut off. I have had the side panel off for around 2 hours and the temps are all staying steadily low. 46-48C CPU 53C GPU. I went back to the 182.50 drivers for my GPU a few weeks ago due to restarts dropping my desktop resolution. It fixed the issue, but I could not access some of the resolutions i used to use. I am back on the 182.50 drivers, and am able to use all my resolutions. I run my desktop at 1680 x 1500. I'm not sure if that is a bit high for my card or not it has been fine for the better part of the year minus certain extreme games such as Crysis.

I did install a .exe file shortly before this started(same day possibly). I removed the .exe which was a script to press the space bar a certain amount of times.

lets try this...
Right-click My Computer... then click Properties...Click the Advanced tab.

Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings... Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK your way out
Restart your computer for the settings to take effect..... this should give us a error screen instead of automatically rebooting...
you say...

I went back to the 182.50 drivers for my GPU a few weeks ago due to restarts dropping my desktop resolution. It fixed the issue

this tells us its a driver issue or possibly a driver conflicting with another driver...
download and install WhoCrashed from here..
This program checks for any drivers which may have been causing your computer to crash....

click on it...then run...then next...put a tick in accept...then next..put a tick in the don't create a start menu folder..then next...put a tick in create a desktop icon..then install.. then make sure there is a tick in launch whocrashed...then finish...then click Analyze ...
WhoCrashed will create report...you have to scroll down to see it
Copy and paste it into your next reply...

I have don't automatically restart enableded already. Whocrashed me can't catch anything sadly we have attempted to use it once. I brought these drivers back down when rshaffer61 asked me to. It is still running off with 190.x or 182.50 drivers. CPU temp gets up to 59C on flash games.

the upper limit for your cpu is 62.2C for the Q6600 SL9UM processor or 71.0C for the SLACR ...depending on which one you have...so that shouldn't be the problem...cpuz will tell you what you have if you don't know...
can you remember the name of the .exe that you downloaded and installed ...
even though you uninstalled it could be important...
go here and get GPUZ...launch it and leave it running in the background...play one of your games for about 5 minutes and then get a screenshot for us

bhop.exe was the name if I recall correctly. It is running around 60C on flash games after around 30-50 minutes of play time with an external fan blowing into the case. As far as I can remember it has never gone that high closed on Crysis even.

did you get bhop thru a torrent download by chance...
you are coming close to the limit for your processor so you may have to pull the heatsink and reapply thermal paste...
if you do... give the heatsink fins a GOOD cleaning...how to here and here
you can do the same for your video card...how to here

No I did not a friend was actually who gave the file to me. He scanned it and I did as well his PC is fine as far as I know also. Would using an external fan be a temporary solution for a week or two? I probably can not get any new thermal paste for a bit.

if you mean a fan setting outside the case with the side cover off blowing in...then yes...
not a very elegant solution :) but it will/may do in a pinch

This image is from a CPU intensive game.

I have a few GPU intensive games if needed. Neither of those are very graphical at all.

I've run out of ideals now.
Everything seems to be working correctly till you play games.
The temps will go up somewhat but should come back down once the fans kick in to higher speeds.
Did chkdsk find and fix any errors?

No chkdsk did not find/fix anything. The temps go up, but no fans kick up GPU or CPU I haven't changed anything as far as they go.
