The title is self explanitary.

What happens is if i try to connect with automatic ip address it comes up with cant get one and if i type in one manually and comfirm it on the modem setup it says cant connect with static ip.

Please help, got live for christmas and it annoys me so much my main presents (this and live points) dont work.

Is this wired, or wireless? What type of broadband do you currently have, DSL, cable, FIOS, etc? Is this the only device connecting to the internet? Is it just a modem, or is it a modem / router?

When you access the internet with our computer, do you have to authenticate with a username and password before you are connected?
