Hi rshaffer61,

I may have a problem then. My computer was built by a local company called CTS. The computer is not a "name brand" like Dell, HP or Compaq. I tried to call them, but, of course, the number has been disconnected. I will try with my friends cd and let you know what happens. I'll get it from him tomorrow.

Thanks,
Kathy

If non branded then they would have had to load a retail or OEM XP.
Did they not sell you a installation disk with your system?

If they did, they gave it to the owner of the company I was working for at the time I had it built. The company I worked for is now out of business.

You can try the sfc /scannow but i don't know if it will work with the cd you have right now.
If not it will tell you it can't find a file on the cd.

Hi rshaffer61,

I ran the Windows XP cd (for HP & Compaq). Some files were replaced, but many files could not be replaced. (ex.- c:\windows\system32\korwbrkr.dll could not be copied into the DLL cache. Error code=0x800b0100

A few errors on ssidrv source - Failed to set monitor event rule

Dozens of Warnings on Tcpip source

There are a million files here. mabey I should ask you what info you need from me?

Thanks & Please Advise,
Kathy
