Also I would like to know if it is possible to change the icons of .exe file because there is a several files that I have and the Icons that they have in explorer and the one shown in the task bar really annoy me. is ther eany tweak to do this.

To remove Windows Messenger go to control panel, add/remove programs, now find the Add/Remove Windows Components button on the left side. Click it and find Messenger in the list. Uncheck it and click next. No more windows messenger.

When you turn off indexing do you turn it off just for the hard drive or for folders and files too?
