When i boot up my computer to use the bootable windows xp cd, i try to dowlload it but it keeps comping up with the error message "Device driver not found: 'OEMCD001' no valad cd rom device drvers selected" i have no way to dowload my windows since the computer wont let me get past this error message. please help (Im not that great with computers so sorry if i am missiing somthing easy)

I'm a little confused. By download do you mean install your windows?
Where did the windows disk come from?
Is it a full installation or a upgrade version?
Is it a Genuine Microsoft disk with the hologram, recovery disk or downloaded and burnt to a cd?

its a cd that ive had for awile but yes im trying to install it, its not a burt cd its 100% real windows. and its a full version not an upgrade.

Let me ask are you using a floppy disk to boot or is it only the cdrom drive?
Also how many hard drives and cdrom drives are in your system?

im using a cdrom. and 1 cd drive and 1 hard drive

OK any issues with the cdrom before this?
Is the installation disk scratched or dirty?

no but the reason im tryng to instal windows is because my whole computer got whipped clean. everythng on it has been erased even windows. so i can get into the setting or anything. my only option is to dowload either windows or mac

well my system crashed and it was windows 98. so i had a disc that was a system restor but it also had an option to remove all data. and being un exsperienced i did that which i shouldnt have. so that why im on this blog haha because i mad a dumb unedicated mistake and now im paying for it haha.

OK wait so are you trying to install Win98 or XP?
If Xp where did the disk come from?

im trying to instal windows xp, ts a c dive had for a wile from when i had it on my other computer.

OK so lets clarify some things first.
Is the XP still installed on another system right now?
Was the XP disk included with your computer or did you buy it separately from the computer?
Is the XP a branded type like HP, Dell, Compaq or something like that?
