xp installation is stuck on finalizing installation at 1 minute left for days?
Hi woody6609,
Question, are you reinstalling to a new drive, reasons for install ? Or was it on this drive before. I ask because of a older OS.
Try it over again, boot from disk, reformat.

no I recently hooked this hp desktop up and I am running internet from my notebook to it. I updated my software and uninstalled something and it wont load up properly. I decided to try a repair but it will not let me, so I tried to reinstall xp and its stuck on prepairing installation now. how can I fix this issue?
When you boot from the installation DVD and you selected repair you are saying it goes nowhere, what exactly does it show ?
Could be a possible bad HDD, wondering if you get a next screen after clicking repair, be able get a command prompt. Reasons and testing solutions shown here http://www.computerh...es/ch001091.htm
When you said does not load up properly, does not bootup at all, how far does it get ?
Try rerun the install look here make sure was done properly, reformatting of drive too. http://www.wikihow.c...tall-Windows-XP
Only think the something you uninstalled took away a file you needed.

What says you have a counterfeit version? When are you getting that message?
Try phone activation.
Call MS Support. Activation problems are supposed to be free: http://support2.micr..._prodact_master

I wonder about this since support has ended for Windows XP
I don't know either, only one way to find out.

There are work arounds, but are they advisable at this point and here ? Also talks of virus when researched
