I have recently updated my operating system to Windows 10, so I am still a bit new to how it works as I had only just gotten used to Windows 8.

Everything had been working fine after the update so I am quite sure that has nothing to do with the problem, although it does make it more difficult for me to fix the problem on my own.

After downloading Tor Browser, my google chrome stopped working, as in: I try to open it and I am lucky if i even get to see "Restore Session" and "Make Google Chrome Default Browser" (even though previously it already WAS my default browser), before it chrases saying it has stoppped responding and all I can do is close the program.

 

While using Microsoft Edge and Firefox (trying to figure out how to fix my Google Chrome) I kept getting redirected to a tor website, getting voice and pop-ups saying that "you're computer is in danger, something has disabled your pop-upblocker" which is just kind of ironic... I was unable to close the page on Microsoft Edge so I had to end task in Task Manager. However, in Firefox I was able to close tabs, or simply go back a page.

 

I tried to uninstall the Tor Browser but when looking for it in the control panel uninstall section, it was nowhere to be seen, I could recognize every single program on the list and remember exactly where it came from and what it did, and there was no Tor Browser or anything related. The folder for the Tor Browser is right on my desktop, and there is no uninstall program.

 

I have tried to do what else is posted online but to no avail, I am guessing a big issue causing my difficulties is the system being Windows 10...

 

I used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to scan my computer, and what it found was Non-Malware potential threats all in Firefox extentions, and some things in Registry Keys, and after I had quarantined the threats and restarted my computer I tried google chrome and it did the same thing. Thankfully, however, I am able to browse on Firefox again without being redirected, so far. But my adblocker is still no where to be seen, as there are ads everywhere...

 

I would really like my Google Chrome back and to be rid of this stupid virus so I can browse freely again, without all these ads.
I would also really like it if the issue could be fixed without ruining my google chrome so I'd have to reinstall it, as i have not exported my bookmarks for at least a year now... and I have a lot on there.

 

I have used FRST before, but on windows 8, and there is nothing saying how it works on Windows 10, so I just wanted to make sure before using it if it will work the same as on Windows 8 or not; my system is 64 bit by the way.
