I was using the default "burn" icon from w/in explorer
I don't think the build-in function on Windows Vista can bun a ISO! Try with Free ISO Burner the program doesn't require installation.

I tried to provide you a direct download link, it seems it doesn't work open http://www.softsea.c...ISO-Burner.htmldon't click on any download button simply wait for the download to start, the file is named FreeISOBurner.exe
The disk looks ok.
On the bad machine try changing the boot order on the bios. What happens exactly when the machine try to boot from the disk?
get...
press any key to boot...
then goes to....
Windows recovery error
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause
provides options to...
Launch start-up repair
Start windows normally
I suppose you don't see this after pressing Enter or the Spacebar?
Is the keyboard USB?

I got it, had to change the boot order - chkdsk is running now
chkdsk ran, at end message stated:
Failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 0
Tried to start machine - got the bsod
The transfer error is normal because chkdsk is no running on a normal windows...
Did you notice if chkdsk did some corrections?
At this point probably the only solution is to try the System Restore, see if there is any point available prior the problem start.
