The fan appears to be OE and is plugged into the MB.
My only concern at this point is the fan keeps running in sleep mode and the inside is clean as far as dust and dirt. It powers down ok and wakes from sleep ok as well.
dimension 4700 when sleep monitor goes off but fans still run

enter into the BIOS.
In your Power Management, please choose ACPI S3 sleep mode. It will turn off the fans when go to sleep.
Found the above tip on line. Perhaps it will help. If you don't have a Power Management option then try setting the BIOS to default save & exit
