Hello again geno368,
Can I ask to what you refer when you say that you only have one VGA on the back as in the PC or the screen.
Thanks for the reply....sorry, the pc...he bought a splitter but it only will mirror....not extend..
he bought a splitter
Aye a splitter is no good as it will only carry the same signal.
You say " he " so if this is not actually a computer in your possession you will need to ask if the back of the computer has been closely checked to see if in addition to the VGA port is there possibly a display port as well.
Thanks again, it is a pc I gave him last month. I have asked him to send me a pic of the back so I can view the available ports...I will advise..
he finally responded.....It has 2 blue video ports on the back and no hdmi....One of the ports is motherboard and the other is a video card with 2, 1 video and 1 dvi.

I sse no name I recognize...I can send a pic if it will help you...

Glad you are sorted and thanks for letting us know
As an asides, isn't it amazing what you find when you take a look, an add on video card was not fitted as standard so you had no way of knowing without seeing things for yourself and fwiw, the below is the back of this particular series of Dell which clearly shows a VGA and a Display Port, a HDMI was not mentioned by myself so no idea who or why one got mentioned.
